Since 2018, Vic High Reads has been an annual event in which classes — primarily from Language Arts — choose a contemporary book from a long list of twelve titles.
The long listing process begins with the teacher-librarian and student book club during semester 1; during semester 2, classes select a book and prepare a 2 1/2 minute presentation — with the goal of convincing Vic High students to choose their book.
Classes work as a team to earn either the Students’ Choice Award through a school-wide vote, or the Judges’ Choice Award through a panel of community judges.
